When three families with young children begin to show symptoms related to autism, they try a 'screen fast' and discover remarkable changes in their children and relationships together.

“It’s a very difficult journey, but it’s a very beautiful journey as well.”
— Mother of 5-year-old whose ADHD, language delays and autism related symptoms reversed after removing screens. Paris, France.

So, what is Virtual Autism?
Virtual autism is a newly proposed term that describes symptoms triggered by excessive screen exposure (more than 2-4 hours a day for children under 3).
Researchers have also used the terms Early and Excessive Exposure to Screens Syndrome and screen time as an environmental trigger for autism-related behaviors.
Clinicians and early interventionists often find a disappearance or remediation of symptoms when screen time is removed, including language delays, attention problems, and emotional and behavioral issues related to autism spectrum disorders.
